Exceptional 10!
We were in Hakuba in June during the green season. It is a great place to do some hiking and have some relaxed days in the mountains.
The apartment is very nice and well furnished and Oliver is a great host. He even picked us up from the train station and showed us around.

Exceptional 10!
This was an absolutely beautiful self contained studio apartment. Trendy and modern build with attention to detail and nice finishing details like the fireplace, towel warmer and electric code instead of a key to get in. Great amenities - very well equipped kitchenette to cook in, laundry with washer and dryer and indoor storage for outdoor gear just to name a few.
The room itself had lots of windows with natural light and was very spacious with a dining table and room for storage which can be hard to find in Japan. Communication with the host Oliver was very prompt and incredibly helpful to help us navigate our way there. The courtesy pick up from the bus stop was much appreciated!!
We were the only guests at the time and Oliver was very flexible with check in/check out. The unit is located right near the Happo stop for the bus to/from Nagano which is convenient. Overall this was one of the best stays I’ve had in a long time and was like staying at a home away from home. Would 100% stay here again!

The best accommodation in Hakuba!
Olivier was the kindest and most hospitable host you could ask for. He picked us up from the station with all of our bags and personally drove us to the slopes every day (including to mountains beyond Happo-One).
We were in constant communication every day and he made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to have a superb time. He even took us grocery shopping??
The accommodation itself was newly renovated and absolutely beautiful. Our room was triple-insulated and had an italian-engineered wood pellet fireplace so we were toasty.
The village was less than 10 minutes away by foot and the nearest gondola was about 15 minutes (however Olivier drove us as mentioned before).
Snow Horizon was one of the best parts of our trip!

年末年始に家族5人で利用しました。部屋のデザインがオシャレで海外の高級コンドミニアムの雰囲気です。設備も充実しています。リビングには大きなソファとペレットストーブがあって寛げます。ロケーションも良く、八方尾根スキー場、スーパー、温泉にもすぐに行けます。何よりフランス人オーナーのホスピタリティが最高で楽しい時間が過ごせました。また利用したいと思います。

Excellent. Simple put.
We loved our stay here, it was a beautiful property that was recently renovated. Everything was new, it was in a great location and the facilities were perfect. The place was warm and was perfect for the 7 of us!
Oliver the host really accommodated us perfectly and treated us with excellent hospitality. It had a perfect system for ski gear and a dry room downstairs so that we could easily put our gear on before we would start skiing.
We were very lucky to get this place when we did as it was fresh on the market and I do not think that it would be free for much longer. I cannot recommend it enough for a group if you want to go skiing in Hakuba and Oliver has great recommendations !!!
Thank you for our stay, without Oliver there it would not have been close to the same experience that we had, he gave the royalty treatment and we love him for it.

Snow Horizon - The best place to stay in Hakuba
Our stay at Snow Horizon was phenomenal. Our host, Olivier, took care of us from the moment we arrived in Hakuba, helping us to have a smooth and thoroughly enjoyable stay. The facilities were excellent with our room being clean, comfy and modern. I cannot recommend Snow Horizon anymore highly, it truly is one of the best places to stay in Hakuba!

Beautifully renovated and conveniently located within walking distance of Happo One ski resort and restaurants/bars in town. Oliver is a fantastic and friendly host who goes out of his way to ensure your stay is perfect. From rides to the slopes to expert advice to impromptu ski lessons, couldn’t have asked for a better host and a better family vacation.

Wow, where do I even begin? Our stay at Snow Horizon was absolutely incredible—truly a highlight in our family's extensive travel adventures. As seasoned travelers, we've come to expect a certain level of comfort and hospitality, but what we found here exceeded all expectations. Despite booking last-minute, we were fortunate enough to secure a spot, and let me tell you, it was a stroke of luck we'll forever be grateful for.
From the moment we made contact with Mr. Olivier, the host, we knew we were in for something special. Not only did he maintain impeccable standards in the accommodation, but his warmth and kindness were genuinely unmatched. Our journey from Tokyo to Hakuba was a bit of a trek, with our arrival pushing into the late hours of the evening. Yet, Mr. Olivier was there every step of the way, checking in on us during our drive and offering invaluable tips for our journey.
Upon finally reaching Snow Horizon, weary from travel, our exhaustion melted away the instant we were greeted by Mr. Olivier's infectious smile. He wasted no time in making us feel right at home, especially our little ones, aged 7 and 9. With a playful romp in the snow and boundless enthusiasm, he set the tone for what would be a magical stay.
Entering our cozy abode, we were met with nothing short of perfection. The attention to detail was astounding—from the fully-equipped kitchen (complete with a dishwasher and coffee machine) to the inviting living space boasting an elegant Italian-style fireplace. And let's not forget the bedrooms, where the promise of a restful night's sleep awaited, thanks to the top-notch latex mattresses.
But the magic didn't stop there. Knowing it was our girls' first encounter with snow and skiing, Mr. Olivier took it upon himself to give them—and even myself—a crash course in hitting the slopes. His patience and expertise transformed what could have been a daunting experience into a joyful adventure.

Best in Hakuba
Exceeding expectations in all aspects! Olivier is an amazing host who broke the ice the moment we met (quite literally), and he strives his best to make sure we get the best of everything for our stay. Everything in the apartment is top notch, and everyone enjoyed it.
Please take good care of Snow Horizon, we can’t wait to be back!

A very relaxing Hakuba lodge experience. An even more helpful host. A+ 5-stars 100% 10/10
Apartment: The apartment was warm, spacious, clean, cozy. It’s centrally located in Hakuba Valley to restaurants, ski rentals, ski resorts, bus stops, convenience stores, grocery stores, onsens, etc. The windows let in lots of natural light and can be curtained at night. The Italian pellet stove kept the place more than warm enough. The TV had access to multiple streaming services and was a perfect size for viewing from the bed. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The high vaulted ceilings were very pretty with cute little wooden birds.
Dining room & kitchen: We made breakfast for two comfortably every day. The dining table was large enough for 5 friends to squeeze in and eat hot pot at. Yea, the apartment even has a hot pot stove. The kitchen was stocked with Nespresso, a toaster, fine European induction stove, oven/microwave, cabinet refrigerator and dishwasher, which were all quiet. The kitchen had every item we needed, bowls and plates of every size, cutlery, utensils, even some items we didn’t expect to be stocked, e.g., vegetable peeler, scissors, strainer.
Laundry: Clothing washer and dryer machines were available downstairs with detergent provided.
Bed: The comforters and pillows were very soft, puffy and warm. The two mattresses joined together with a not-too-noticeable seam. When we had friends over for dinner, the beds were converted to sofas before and after with help from the host.
Snow gear storage: The ski gear storage room had one stairwell to walk through with gear on, another without. Our ski gear had tons of space to remain organized. In this room we could comfortably put on and take off our boots. A heater in this room dried all our gear over night and welcomed us with warm boots each morning.
Host: I haven’t mentioned the host much above, but Olivier really made our trip to Hakuba wonderful from the day we arrived to the day we left. Every day he would drop us off and pick us up from the nearby ski resorts.

Fantastic apartment stay in Hakuba
Everything about our stay at Snow Horizon was fantastic! The host/owner Olivier went above and beyond every day to make sure we were comfortable and got to where we were going, giving us lifts anytime we requested. He even greeted us with a bottle of tasty red wine upon arrival and drove us to the bus terminal the day after we'd already checked out!
The photos didn't do the apartment justice. Everything about it exceeded our expectations and was an exceedingly comfortable place to spend time in after hitting the slopes. All the furniture, paintings, and decor were stunning and had clearly been thoughtfully chosen to match the space perfectly. The kitchen is at least as good as ours at home, which made it an easy choice to make meals instead of buying them out.
I cannot recommend Snow Horizon enough and would definitely make it my first pick to stay at next time I'm visiting Hakuba!

We are travelling with a small child and both owners, Olivier and Reika, have been so incredibly accommodating and friendly. They have gone above and beyond during our stay and we are so incredibly thankful to have found this gem in the heart of Hakuba. Reika and Olivier have given us so many local tips during our stay which has been very handy.
The accommodation is brand new, modern, cooking facilities are easy to use and very good quality, bedding is top quality latex with warm duvet + great pillows.
I really like the decor from the exposed timber beams and white walls, high ceilings, art work displayed and the modern easy to use fire place. There is also lots of natural light coming and we can see outside from every angle of the house.
We are surrounded by snowfields, it’s about a 10 minute walk to Rhythm Hakuba to hire snow gear, about a 5-10 minute walk to the Happo-One bus stop which is surrounded by little cafes, restaurants, souvenir shop and Onsen.
Highly recommend Snow Horizon to anyone wanting a sleek and modern, down to earth, family friendly place to stay in Hakuba.

We came to Hakuba to ski with friends and chose this B&B. What an unexpected surprise: First of all, the new facilities in the room are very complete. I love the big stove in the living room, which is a perfect match for the snow country! Kitchen utensils and living equipment are all available, suitable for private kitchens for Chinese and Western food gatherings. The owner is a very funny, warm and thoughtful French gentleman. We rented three bedrooms and one living room on the first floor. We will definitely rent the whole building next time to come with our friends. Thank you to the owners for providing us with a comfortable and enjoyable Christmas vacation!
